Title: Orthogonal Polynomials and Toda Lattice Speaker: Mourad Ismail Time: 5:00pm-6:00pm Place: PHY 013
We explain how the Toda lattice was proved to be a completely integrable system. The proof, known from the early 70's, uses orthogonal polynomials. The ideas behind the proof will be explained.
